LIGHTING SYSTEM

  1. FUNCTION OF MAIN COMPONENTS

    Component Function
Absorber Control ECU Sends the vehicle height value signal to the No. 1 headlight ECU sub-assembly LH.
Central Gateway ECU (Network Gateway ECU) Relays the signal between the CAN communication lines.
Combination Meter Assembly Sends the vehicle speed signal to the No. 1 headlight ECU sub-assembly LH.
Certification ECU (Smart Key ECU Assembly) Sends engine switch condition signals to the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU).
DLC3 The Global TechStream (GTS) can be connected to read the Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) of malfunctions.

    Turn Signal Switch

    • Light Control Switch

Sends the light control switch position signal to the steering sensor.
No. 1 Headlight ECU Sub-assembly LH
    • Receives various signals and controls the headlight leveling motor LH.

    • Sends headlight leveling motor operation signals to the No. 1 headlight ECU sub-assembly RH.

No. 1 Headlight ECU Sub-assembly RH Controls the headlight leveling motor RH according to control signals from the No. 1 headlight ECU sub-assembly LH.
Headlight Leveling Motor LH/RH Moves the headlights vertically and controls the beam axis direction according to control signals from the No. 1 headlight ECU sub-assembly LH/RH.
Height Control Sensor Sub-assembly Detects vehicle height value and transmits a signal to the absorber control ECU
Main Body ECU (Multiplex Network Body ECU) Receives a light control signal and transmits it to the No. 1 headlight ECU sub-assembly LH.
Skid Control ECU Assembly Sends the vehicle speed signal to the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU).
Steering Sensor Sends the light control switch position signal to the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU).
  2. SYSTEM CONTROL

    1. The No. 1 headlight ECU sub-assembly LH receives vehicle height change signals sent from the rear height control sensor sub-assembly and calculates the changes in the pitch angle of the vehicle. The no. 1 headlight ECU sub-assembly LH/RH drives the headlight leveling motor LH/RH in accordance with the change.

      Control Mode Details
While Stopped If the vehicle attitude is stable for approximately 3 seconds with the headlights on while stopped, the No. 1 headlight ECU sub-assembly LH/RH operates the headlight leveling motor LH/RH in accordance with the detected change in vehicle attitude.
  3. FUNCTION

    1. The height control sensor sub-assembly detects changes in the vehicle's rear ride height due to cargo loads etc., and operates the headlight leveling motor RH/LH in accordance with the changes, keeping the headlight axes at a constant angle.

    2. Combination Meter Assembly

      1. When a malfunction occurs in the automatic headlight beam level control system, the master warning light illuminates, the buzzer sounds, and the "Headlight System Malfunction Visit Your Dealer" warning message is displayed on the multi-information display.

  4. FAIL-SAFE

    1. If the No. 1 headlight ECU sub-assembly detects a malfunction in the automatic headlight beam level control system, the headlight ECU sub-assembly performs the fail-safe operation. For details, refer to the Repair Manual.
