POWER DOOR LOCK CONTROL SYSTEM


  1. FUNCTION


    1. The power door lock control system has the following functions:

      Function*1 Outline
      Manual Unlock This function unlocks all the doors when the door control switch is operated to the unlock side.
      Manual Lock This function locks all the doors when the door control switch is operated to the lock side.
      Key-linked Unlock*2 This function, which is linked with the door lock key cylinder, can unlock all the doors when a unlock operation is performed.
      Key-linked 2-step Unlock*2 This function is provided to unlock the driver door when the mechanical key is turned in the door lock key cylinder the first time and to unlock the remaining doors when it is turned the second time within 5 seconds of the first time.
      Key-linked Lock This function, which is linked with the door lock key cylinder, can lock all the doors when a lock operation is performed.
      Collision Door Lock Release If the SRS airbag system has been activated, and the main body ECU has detected the activation signal output by the airbag ECU assembly, the main body ECU unlocks all the doors.
      Manual Unlock Prohibition Function When the doors are all closed and are locked using a key linked operation, wireless remote operation or entry lock operation, unlocking the vehicle using the door control switch is prohibited.
      Driver Door Opening-linked Automatic Door Unlock All the doors are automatically unlocked when the driver door is opened within 45 seconds of the engine switch being turned from on (IG) to on (ACC) or off.
      Shift-linked Automatic Door Lock

      This function causes all the doors to be automatically locked.


      • The engine switch is turned from off or on (ACC) to on (IG).

      • The engine is running.

      • All the doors are closed.

      • The shift position is changed from P to R, N, D or M.

      • Any one of the doors is in an unlocked state.

      Shift-linked Automatic Door Unlock All the doors are automatically unlocked when the shift position is changed to P while the engine switch is on (IG).
      Speed-sensitive Automatic Door Lock

      This function causes all the doors to be automatically locked.


      • Vehicle speed is higher than approximately 20 km/h (12 mph).

      • All the doors are closed.

      • Any of the doors is unlocked.

      Key Confinement Prevention When the electrical key transmitter sub-assembly is present in the interior detection area, and a door lock operation is performed while the driver door is open, all the doors will be unlocked.
      Double Locking*3
      • The double locking function protects against unlawful entry by preventing the doors from being unlocked from inside the vehicle in addition to preventing them from being unlocked from outside the vehicle.

      • To lock the doors with this system, press the transmitter lock button, then press it again within 5 seconds to activate the double locking system.

      Note

      Never activate the double locking system when there are people in the vehicle because the doors cannot be opened from the inside of the vehicle. If the doors are locked by accident, unlock the door by performing a wireless unlock operation or entry unlock operation.

      Tech Tips


      • If the transmitter battery is depleted, only the driver door can be opened using the mechanical key.

      • However, the theft deterrent system still remains on. The theft alarm will sound when the door is opened without using the electrical key transmitter sub-assembly.*4, *5

      Customization The on or off setting of some functions and settings can be performed using the Global Techstream (GTS) or multi-display. In addition, some functions are not available depending on the specification. For details, refer to the Repair Manual.

      Tech Tips

      *1: The default setting differs depending on the model.

      *2: The function can be set to unlock all the doors after 1 or 2 key-linked unlock operations for the driver side by using the customization function.

      *3: Models with double locking function

      *4: Models with theft deterrent system

      *5: When the customization setting of "Security control with mechanism key" is off.
