CONSTRUCTION
The exhaust pipes are made of stainless steel for improved rust resistance.
Ceramic type TWCs in the front exhaust pipe assembly are used.
An exhaust pipe gas control actuator sub-assembly driven by motor operation and an exhaust change valve are provided for the tail exhaust pipe assembly. Dual-stage exhaust control is used, which achieves a good balance between quietness and exhaust sound and reduces back pressure by changing the exhaust gas flow passage depending on whether the engine speed is high or low. For details of dual-stage exhaust control, see the Engine Control (2UR-GSE) section.
A clam shell muffler is used to ensure aerodynamic performance.

OPERATION
Exhaust Change Valve
When the exhaust change valve is closed, exhaust gas passes through the silencer before being discharged, ensuring quietness.
When the exhaust change valve is open, exhaust gas flows directly to the tail pipe where it is discharged, emphasizing the exhaust sound.
