  1. FUNCTION OF MAIN COMPONENTS

    Component Function

    Electrical Key Transmitter Sub-assembly


    • Luggage Compartment Door Open Switch


    • Receives signals from the antennas and returns the ID code to the door control receiver.

    • Sends a luggage compartment door open switch on signal to the door control receiver.

    Door Control Receiver
    • Receives the ID code from the electrical key transmitter sub-assembly in the actuation area and transmits it to the certification ECU.

    • Sends a luggage compartment door open switch on signal received from the electrical key transmitter sub-assembly to the certification ECU.

    No. 3 Indoor Electrical Key Antenna Assembly Receives a request signal from the certification ECU and forms an actuation area in the luggage compartment door.
    Electrical Key Antenna Receives a request signal from the certification ECU and forms an actuation area around the luggage compartment door.

    Luggage Compartment Door Lock Assembly


    • Luggage Compartment Door Lock Motor

    • Luggage Compartment Door Courtesy Switch


    • Drives the built-in motor via the main body ECU control to open the luggage compartment door.

    • Sends a luggage compartment door open signal to the main body ECU.

    No. 2 Luggage Room Relay Block


    • TRK OPN Relay

    Receives signals from the main body ECU and drives the luggage compartment door lock motor.
    Luggage Door Opening Cancel Switch Assembly Prohibits system operation when set to off.

    No. 3 Combination Switch Assembly


    • Luggage Door Opening Switch

    Sends an on signal to the main body ECU in order to open the luggage compartment door from the cabin.
    Luggage Electrical Key Switch Sends an on signal to the certification ECU in order to open the luggage compartment door from the outside.
    Wireless Door Lock Buzzer* Sounds once when the luggage compartment door is opened using the electrical key transmitter sub-assembly.
    Main Body ECU (Multiplex Network Body ECU)
    • Receives signals from each ECU and switch and outputs the TRK OPN relay on signal.

    • Outputs wireless door lock buzzer sounding request signals when a luggage compartment door open operation is performed according to electrical key transmitter sub-assembly operation.*

    Certification ECU (Smart Key ECU Assembly)
    • Controls the antennas and forms entry lock/unlock detection areas.

    • Sends a luggage compartment door open signal to the main body ECU.

    Hybrid Vehicle Control ECU Assembly Sends the shift position signal and stop light switch assembly on signal to the main body ECU.
    Skid Control ECU Assembly Sends a vehicle speed signal to the main body ECU.
    Parking Brake ECU Assembly Sends the electric parking brake condition to the main body ECU.
    Radio Receiver Assembly Sends function customization information from the multi-display setting screen to the main body ECU.
    Multi-display Displays the settings screen.
    Combination Meter Assembly
    • Sends a vehicle speed signal to the main body ECU.

    • Flashes the hazard warning lights as an answer back operation when a luggage compartment door open operation is performed according to electrical key transmitter sub-assembly operation.

    Central Gateway ECU (Network Gateway ECU) Relays the signal between the CAN communication lines.
    DLC3 The Global TechStream (GTS) can be connected to change settings as desired by the user.

  2. SYSTEM CONTROL


    1. The operating conditions of the luggage compartment door opener system are as follows:

      Operation Condition
      Luggage Compartment Door Open

      When the luggage compartment door is closed and any of the following conditions is met, the luggage compartment door can be opened by pressing the luggage door opening switch:


      • Power switch is off.

      • Power switch is on (IG), vehicle speed is approximately 5 km/h (approximately 3 mph) or less and shift position is in P.

      • Power switch is on (IG), vehicle speed is approximately 5 km/h (approximately 3 mph) or less and brake pedal is depressed.

      • Power switch is on (IG), vehicle speed is approximately 5 km/h (approximately 3 mph) or less and parking brake is engaged.

      When the luggage compartment door is closed and any of the following conditions is met, the luggage compartment door can be opened by pressing the luggage electrical key switch:


      • Power switch is off.

      • Power switch is on (IG), vehicle speed is approximately 5 km/h (approximately 3 mph) or less and shift position is in P.

      • Power switch is on (IG), vehicle speed is approximately 5 km/h (approximately 3 mph) or less and brake pedal is depressed.

      • Power switch is on (IG), vehicle speed is approximately 5 km/h (approximately 3 mph) or less and parking brake is engaged.

      • The user is inside the exterior actuation area around the luggage compartment door while carrying the electrical key transmitter sub-assembly.

      • Electrical key transmitter sub-assembly is in luggage compartment interior detection area.

      When the luggage compartment door is closed and the following condition is met, the luggage compartment door can be opened by pressing and holding the luggage compartment door open switch of the electrical key transmitter sub-assembly for more than approximately 0.8 seconds:


      • Power switch is off.

      When the luggage compartment door is closed and the following condition is met, the luggage compartment door can be opened by pressing the luggage electrical key switch:


      • Any door is unlocked by the entry function, wireless door lock control function, key-linked unlock function or door control switch.

  3. FUNCTION


    1. Luggage Door Opening Cancel Function


      1. The luggage door opening cancel switch assembly is located inside the glove box.

      2. When the luggage door opening cancel switch assembly is turned off, the luggage compartment door opener system can be canceled.

      1. Settings can be changed as desired by the user. Refer to the Repair Manual for details.
