  1. CONSTRUCTION


    1. A removable air cleaner cap sub-assembly is used in consideration of replacement serviceability. Also, a fine fiber layer is added on the paper filter surface of the air cleaner element to improve cleaning performance.

    2. The fine fiber sound absorbing material which is also utilized as an air guide is positioned in the air cleaner case sub-assembly to reduce intake pressure loss and high-frequency engine noise, improving the balance of the engine sound.

    3. A flow adjustment fin is positioned in the opening area of the inlet duct. The flow adjustment fin generates small vortices to adjust air flow. As a result, air separation is suppressed at the opening and bending areas to reduce the intake pressure loss, improving engine output.

    4. A carbon filter, which adsorbs the HCs that accumulate in the intake system when the engine is stopped, is used in the air cleaner cap sub-assembly in order to reduce evaporative emissions. This filter is maintenance-free.*
