EMISSION CONTROL SYSTEM(for Korea)

  1. CONSTRUCTION

    1. In this system, if the internal pressure of the fuel tank assembly is high before the fuel lid is opened by operating the fuel lid opening switch, the ECM opens the fuel vapor-containment valve (fuel tank solenoid main valve assembly) to release the fuel vapors. As a result, it reduces the internal pressure of the fuel tank assembly to a level close to the atmospheric pressure. While the pressure is being released, images shown in the table below will appear on the multi-information display. Thus, it informs the driver of the standby state from the time the fuel lid opening switch is pressed until the fuel lid opens.

    2. In addition, this display will inform the driver if the fuel lid is open.

The standby state that occurs while the pressure is being released from the fuel tank assembly appears on the display under the following conditions:

      • The fuel lid opening switch is operated and the fuel vapor-containment valve (fuel tank solenoid main valve assembly) is open.

      • The internal pressure of the fuel tank assembly is higher than the atmospheric pressure.

      • After the fuel lid opening switch is operated, A segment appears one by one every second and then 10 segments of the bar illuminate. If it takes longer than 9 seconds, 9 bars will remain illuminated.

The refueling-ready state appears on the display under the following conditions:

      • The fuel vapor-containment valve (fuel tank solenoid main valve assembly) is open.

      • The internal pressure of the fuel tank assembly is near the atmospheric pressure.

If one of the conditions described below has been met while the fuel lid is open, the fuel lid open state appears on the display.

      • The vehicle speed is higher than 50 km/h (31 mph).

      • The vehicle has been driven more than 1 km (0.6 mile).

      • 30 minutes have elapsed since the fuel vapor-containment valve (fuel tank solenoid main valve assembly) was opened.
