OUTLINE
A small, lightweight and highly efficient lithium-ion battery is used.
The HV battery (HV supply battery assembly) has high power and density, light weight and long life characteristics, compensates the vehicle drive energy and stores regenerative energy.
The HV battery (HV supply battery assembly) is positioned behind the rear seats and optimally placed in the luggage compartment.
The battery ECU assembly and battery voltage sensors (upper and lower) are optimally positioned to achieve a small HV battery (HV supply battery assembly).
Due to a battery voltage sensor and battery ECU assembly that monitors the HV battery (HV supply battery assembly) condition (battery voltage, battery current value, temperature) and controls the charging and discharging amount to maintain a certain charging condition, charging from external sources is generally not necessary.
An air cooling type system via the battery cooling blower assembly is used and the intake air ducts and coolant ducts, etc., have been optimized in the HV battery cooling system to achieve enhanced cooling performance and noise reduction.
An aluminum frame is used for the battery pack case to achieve a small shape and protect it from collisions.

PRECAUTION
HV battery (HV supply battery assembly) electrolyte is a highly alkaline potassium hydroxide solution (odorless, transparent, colorless). Careless handling of the HV battery (HV supply battery assembly) is very dangerous. Handle the HV battery (HV supply battery assembly) properly in accordance with the procedures below:
| Procedure | Precaution |
|---|---|
| When there is liquid leakage present in the area of the HV battery (HV supply battery assembly) | Neutralize it with a saturated mixture of boric acid and water. |
| After litmus paper has been used to determine that the mixture is neutral, wipe it up with cloth. | |
| When battery electrolyte gets on skin, eyes etc.* | Flush it with a saturated solution of boric acid and water, or with a large amount of water. |
| Remove contaminated clothes at once. | |
| When a vehicle is scrapped | Remove the HV battery (HV supply battery assembly) from the vehicle for collection via the specified route. |
| When stored | The battery should not be left in a damp or wet location. |
| When a vehicle is stored for a long time. | Disconnect the auxiliary battery negative terminal. |
| When in storage, the HV battery (HV supply battery assembly) should be charged every 2 months to prevent HV battery (HV supply battery assembly) discharge or damage. Using the following procedure, charge the HV battery (HV supply battery assembly) with the vehicle.
If the engine does not start or intermittently stops within 30 minutes, stop the operation at that time. (The HV battery (HV supply battery assembly) does not need to be charged.) |
*: If you get electrolyte in your eyes, call for help, do not rub your eyes. Rinse your eyes with a large amount of water and seek medical attention immediately.
