FUNCTION
Rear Seat Belt Warning (Models with Rear Seat Belt Warning)
The rear seat belt warning function indicates the state of the rear seat belts using the clock assembly.
The combination meter assembly sends a rear seat belt warning signal to the clock assembly based on the rear seat belt buckle switches and courtesy switches for the rear doors. When the signal is received, the clock assembly operates the lights. If a warning is necessary, the buzzer in the combination meter assembly will also sound.
The flow of operations that results in a rear seat belt warning is as follows:
| Step | Condition Transition | Warning Light | Buzzer |
|---|---|---|---|
| (a) | Ignition switch is off. | Warning is not displayed. | No Sound |
| (b) | A rear door is opened then closed. | ||
| (c) |

| (d) | Any of the rear seat belts are unfastened. | Seats with an unfastened seat belt will be displayed regardless of the number of occupants. | If the vehicle speed exceeds 20 km/h (12 mph):

Maintenance Required Reminder Function (Models with 8NR-FTS Engine)
The engine oil maintenance required reminder will appear to inform the driver of maintenance requirements. The maintenance required message is displayed on the multi-information display.
The combination meter assembly calculates the vehicle driving distance based on signals from the skid control ECU (brake actuator assembly).
There are 2 types of warnings: one is operated when the engine oil is scheduled to be changed since the last time the system was reset, and the other is operated when the engine oil should be changed.
The maintenance required reminder functions as follows:
| Warning Method | The engine oil is scheduled to be changed | The engine oil should be changed |
|---|---|---|
| Multi-information Display | "Oil Maintenance Required Soon. "*1 or "OIL MAINTENANCE REQUIRED SOON "*2 | "Oil Maintenance Required Visit Your Dealer. "*1 or "OIL MAINTENANCE REQUIRED VISIT YOUR DEALER"*2 |

After the required maintenance has been performed, the accumulated vehicle driving distance memorized in the combination meter assembly should be reset to zero using the TRIP switch of the steering pad switch assembly.
Tech Tips
The accumulated vehicle driving distance memorized in the combination meter assembly can be reset using the following procedure.
Turn the ignition switch to ON, and make sure that trip meter A is displayed.
Turn the ignition switch off. While pushing the TRIP switch of the steering pad switch assembly, turn the ignition switch to ON.
With the ignition switch ON, continue holding the TRIP switch of the steering pad switch assembly (for at least 5 seconds) with the trip meter A counting down. Release the TRIP switch of the steering pad switch assembly when the resetting procedure has completed.
When resetting is completes, the trip meter A will display "00000".
