EMISSION CONTROL SYSTEM

  1. FUNCTION OF MAIN COMPONENTS

    1. The main components of the evaporative emission control system are as follows:

      Component Function
Fuel Suction Tube with Pump and Gauge Assembly Charcoal Canister Contains activated charcoal to absorb the fuel vapors that are created in the fuel tank assembly.
Purge VSV (No. 1 Vacuum Switching Valve Assembly) Opens and closes the valve based on signals from the ECM and controls the flow rate of the evaporative emission.
ECM Controls the purge VSV (No. 1 vacuum switching valve assembly) in accordance with the signals from various sensors, in order to achieve a purge volume that suits the driving conditions.
  2. SYSTEM CONTROL

    1. The ECM controls the purge flow of the evaporative emissions (HC) from the charcoal canister in accordance with engine conditions.
