SFI SYSTEM

  1. FUNCTION

    1. The ETCS-i, which provides excellent throttle control in all operating ranges, is used.

    2. The ETCS-i uses the ECM to calculate the optimal throttle valve opening angle that is appropriate for the respective driving conditions and uses a throttle control motor to control the opening angle.

    3. The ETCS-i controls the idle speed and cruise control system.*

    4. If a malfunction is detected, this system switches to fail-safe mode.

      Controls of ETCS-i
Throttle Valve Opening Angle Control Controls the throttle valve opening angle in accordance with the driving conditions based on signals from the ECM.
Idle Speed Control (ISC) Controls the fast idle speed in accordance with the engine coolant temperature, rotation fluctuation control during engine load, etc., to regularly maintain the optimal idle speed.
CVT + EFI + ETCS-i Integrated Control (Shift Shock Reduction Control) Controls the throttle valve opening angle during CVT shifting to achieve a reduction in shift shock when shifting up and down and to reduce the shifting time.
VVT-i + VVT-iW + Turbocharger + ETCS-i Integrated Control Cooperatively controls the throttle valve, VVT-iW, VVT-i and wastegate valve to achieve a driving condition with optimal fuel economy during normal driving. Also, controls each actuator in accordance with the driver's intentions during acceleration to achieve a high torque response.
