ENTRY AND START SYSTEM

  1. OUTLINE

    1. The entry and start system has the following main functions, making it a very user-friendly system.

      Function Outline
      Start Function

The start function is operated by simply pushing the power switch while carrying the electrical key transmitter sub-assembly. When the power switch is pushed, the certification ECU turns the ACC relay, IG1 relay and IG2 relay on or off to switch the power source.*1

      • The power source changes depending on the depression of the brake pedal and the shift position.

Immobiliser The immobiliser system compares the ID code that is registered in the certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly) with the ID code of the transponder chip that is embedded in the electrical key transmitter sub-assembly.
Shift Lock The shift lock function is operated to lock and unlock the shift control by using a shift lock control actuator assembly in the hybrid vehicle transaxle assembly.
      Entry Function

      Entry Unlock:

The doors unlock when the front door outside handle is gripped.

      • The driver door outside handle unlocks all the doors.

      • The front passenger door outside handle unlocks all doors.*2

      Entry Lock:

All doors lock when the lock sensor on a front door outside handle LH/RH*3 is touched or back door opener switch assembly (back door lock switch)*4 is pressed.

Entry Back Door Open*4 The entry back door open function can be operated manually by simply pressing the back door opener switch assembly (back door unlock switch).
Wireless Door Lock Control The wireless door lock control function is a convenient system for locking and unlocking all the doors and the back door at a distance. The basic operation is the same as that of the wireless door lock control system.
Charger lid unlock function*5 The charger lid unlock function enables the charger lid to be unlocked when the charger lid is pressed while the electrical key transmitter sub-assembly is being carried.
Charger connector lock/unlock function*5 The charging connector lock/unlock function enables the charging connector lock switch to be locked or unlocked while the electrical key transmitter sub-assembly is being carried.*6

*1: In this chapter, the expression "power source" has been used in some locations to allow precise explanations. The power source condition is also expressed using conventional expressions such as "power switch off", "power switch on (ACC)" and "power switch on (IG)".
