SOLAR CHARGING SYSTEM


  1. CONSTRUCTION


    1. The solar control unit has 3 built-in DC-DC converters which boost or reduce voltage from the solar roof in order to charge the solar battery, HV battery assembly and auxiliary battery.

    2. MPPT control* is used to obtain the maximum amount of power from the solar roof (No.1 roof window glass sub-assembly).

      *: The amount of power that can be generated by a solar panel depends on its output voltage to current ratio. Therefore, it is necessary to find the most appropriate output voltage to current ratio. MPPT control (maximum power point tracking control) is a function that adjusts the output voltage to current ratio to maximize power generation.

  2. PRECAUTION


    1. A power cable (orange) which connects the high voltage components is used for the cable connecting the solar energy control unit with the HV battery in the solar charging system. As the power cable (orange) and its connector are dangerous, do not touch them with bare hands.
