OUTLINE
A solar charging system has been adopted. By using solar roof (No. 1 roof window glass sub-assembly LH) installed to the roof of the vehicle, power is generated and used to charge the HV battery assembly and supply auxiliary electrical loads.
By allowing the HV battery assembly to be charged by the solar charging system while the vehicle is parked and by supplying power to the auxiliary battery to reduce power consumption of the HV battery assembly while the vehicle is being driven, EV drive mode driving distance has increased and excellent fuel economy has been realized.
The solar charging system consists of a solar energy control unit, solar roof (No. 1 roof window glass sub-assembly LH) and solar battery. The power generated by the solar roof (No. 1 roof window glass sub-assembly LH) is supplied to each electrical load via the solar energy control unit.
he solar charging system displays information such as the amount of generated power on the multi-information display in the combination meter assembly.
