CONSTRUCTION
The shift lever position sensor (shift lock control unit assembly) for detecting the home position, reverse (R), neutral (N), drive (D) or brake (B) shift position is built into the shift lock control unit assembly.
The shift lever position sensor (shift lock control unit assembly) detects the left and right movement (select stroke) and up and down movement (shift stroke) of the shift lever and outputs a signal to the hybrid vehicle control ECU in accordance with the shift lever operation.
Reliability of the shift lever position sensor (shift lock control unit assembly) is ensured by utilizing 4 Hall ICs to output 4 signals.
Based on the majority of 4 signals (when it is decided that at least 3 signals indicate the same position) the hybrid system selects home position, reverse (R), neutral (N), drive (D) or brake (B).
