EMISSION CONTROL SYSTEM(w/ Canister Pump Module)

  1. CONSTRUCTION

    1. In this system, if the internal pressure of the fuel tank assembly is high before the fuel lid is opened by operating the fuel lid opener switch, the ECM opens the fuel vapor-containment valve (fuel tank solenoid main valve assembly) to release the fuel vapors. Thus, it reduces the internal pressure of the fuel tank assembly to a level close to atmospheric pressure. While the pressure is being released, images shown in the table below will appear on the multi-information display. Thus, it informs the driver of the standby state from the time the fuel lid opener switch is pressed until the fuel lid opens.

    2. In addition, this display will inform the driver if the fuel lid is open.

      Multi-information Display Indication Conditions
      "Please Wait Now Opening"

The standby state that occurs while the pressure is being released from the fuel tank assembly appears on the display under the following conditions:

      • The fuel lid opener switch was operated and the fuel vapor-containment valve (fuel tank solenoid main valve assembly) is open.

      • The internal pressure of the fuel tank assembly is higher than atmospheric pressure.

      "Refuel Ready"

The refueling-ready state appears on the display under the following conditions:

      • The fuel vapor-containment valve (fuel tank solenoid main valve assembly) is open.

      • The internal pressure of the fuel tank assembly is near atmospheric pressure.

      "Close Fuel Lid"

If one of the conditions described below has been met while the fuel lid is open, the fuel lid open state appears on the display.

      • The vehicle has traveled more than 1 km (0.6 mile) at a speed of higher than 50 km/h (31 mph).

      • 30 minutes have elapsed since the fuel vapor-containment valve (fuel tank solenoid main valve assembly) was opened.
