PLUG-IN CHARGE CONTROL SYSTEM

  1. CONSTRUCTION

    1. The charge cable (electric vehicle charger cable assembly) consists of a charging connector, CCID (Charging Circuit Interrupting Device) and power cable.

    2. A temperature sensor is installed to the power plug to detect abnormally high temperatures resulting from a loose connection of the power cable in order to control the charge current and generated heat.

      Note

Make sure that no foreign matter is attached to the connecting parts of the charge cable or charge inlet. If there is any foreign matter on the connecting parts of the charge cable or charge inlet, the terminals of the connector may overheat or be damaged.

  2. FUNCTION

    1. When the charge cable (electric vehicle charger cable assembly) is connected, an electrical leakage test starts automatically.

    2. The CCID (Charging Circuit Interrupting Device) monitors for electrical leakage within the vehicle during plug-in charging.

    3. If any electrical leakage or a malfunction is detected, the built-in relay (CCID relay) turns off to cut off the supply of power.

Main Features of CCID (Charging Circuit Interrupting Device)
      Function Description of Function
Leakage to ground detection If any leakage to ground in a high voltage circuit is detected, 2 built-in relays (CCID relay) are turned off to cut off the supply of power.
Self-check for leakage to ground detection function Automatically detects that the leakage to ground function is operating.
CPLT (Control Pilot Circuit) Sends the status of the CCID (Charging Circuit Interrupting Device) to the electric vehicle charger assembly.
Self Protection Function To protect itself from external factors such as a lightning strike, a built-in protection circuit is provided.
Temperature Detection Function Detects abnormally high temperatures and controls the charge current.
    4. The CCID (Charging Circuit Interrupting Device) shows the plug-in charging status by illuminating or flashing the switch indicator, charging indicator (EV charger lid indicator assembly) and error indicator.

      Power Indicator
      • Illuminates while the power source is connected.

      • Flashes when the power plug is overheating.

      Charging Indicator
      • Illuminates during plug-in charging (when CCID relay is on).

      • Flashes while charging current is restricted.

Error Indicator Flashes to indicate the type of malfunction.
