    1. The ECM regulates the amount of engine coolant circulation to suit the engine operating conditions. The ECM bases this control on signals such as the engine coolant temperature, vehicle speed and engine speed. As a result, the engine will be warmed up more quickly, and cooling loss will be reduced as well.
