THEFT DETERRENT


  1. FUNCTION


    1. The theft deterrent system has the following functions:

      Function Outline
      Alarm When the theft deterrent system switches to the alarm state, the warning items are operated and the alarm sounds for approximately 27.5 seconds.
      Alarm Indicator When the theft deterrent system switches to the armed preparation state or alarm state, the security indicator light is illuminated to inform the user. This indicator is also the immobiliser indicator, which blinks when the immobiliser is in the set state.
      Forced Door Lock

      The main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) transmits a door lock signal to all the doors when all the following conditions are met:


      • The theft deterrent system is in the alarm state.

      • There is no electrical key transmitter sub-assembly in the actuation area.

      • One of the doors has been unlocked.

      The function stops when one of the following conditions is met:


      • All doors are locked.

      • The warning ends after approximately 27.5 seconds.

      • The electrical key transmitter sub-assembly is in the actuation area.

  2. OPERATION


    1. The states of the theft deterrent system are as follows:

      State Description Theft Detection
      Disarmed State The theft deterrent system has not been set by the user. Not possible
      Armed Preparation State This is the preparation state before the theft deterrent system becomes active (enters the armed state) when the system has been set by the user. Not possible
      Armed State The theft deterrent system is active. (Theft can be detected.) Possible
      Alarm State A theft attempt has been detected and the warning operation activates. Possible

    2. The theft deterrent system activates as shown in the diagram above when one of the items in the table occurs in order to cause the system to enter the respective state.

      Condition Item
      (1)

      In disarmed state 1, when the power switch is off, the system state is switched if the following condition is met:


      • With all doors, hood and the luggage compartment door closed, all doors are locked by wireless operation or entry and start system.

      (2) Approximately 30 seconds elapse.
      (3)
      • All doors are unlocked by wireless operation or entry and start system.

      • Any door is unlocked.

      • Any door is opened.

      • The power switch is pushed.

      • The power switch is turned on (ACC) or on (IG).

      • The auxiliary battery is reconnected.

      • The hood is opened when the hood is closed.

      • The luggage compartment door is opened when the luggage compartment door is closed.

      • The hood, luggage compartment door, or any door is open, any door is unlocked, when the auxiliary battery is reconnected.

      • Any door is opened when all doors are closed.

      • Any door is unlocked when all doors are locked.

      • When 5 seconds or more have elapsed after the power switch is pushed, the power source mode is changed to on (IG)

      • The hood is open.

      • The luggage compartment door is open.

      • Any door is unlocked.

      • The power source mode is on (IG).

      • The power switch is turned on (READY).

      • All doors are unlocked by wireless operation or entry and start system.

      • The power source mode changes to on (ACC) or on (IG) within 5 seconds after the power switch is pushed

      (6) After approximately 27.5 seconds, alarm stops and the system returns to the armed state.
      (7) The luggage compartment door is opened by wireless operation or entry and start system.

      • The luggage compartment door is closed when the hood is closed.

      • The hood is closed when the luggage compartment door is closed.

      • Any door is unlocked when all doors are locked.

      • Any door is opened.

      • The power switch is pushed.

      • The auxiliary battery is reconnected.

      • All doors are unlocked by wireless operation or entry and start system.

      • The power source mode changes to on (ACC) or on (IG).

      In disarmed state 1, when the power switch is off, the system state is switched if the following condition is met:


      • With all doors closed, and the hood and luggage compartment door opened, all doors are locked by wireless operation or entry and start system.

      • The luggage compartment door is opened by wireless operation or entry and start system.
