OUTLINE
Shift operation is performed using an electronic shift lever system to electrically change the shift position and unlock the transaxle parking lock mechanism, allowing shift operations to be performed with less force and also enabling automatic shifting to the P position when power is turned off, realizing superior shifting performance.
In this system, based on information from each sensor, switch and ECU, the EV control ECU determines the vehicle conditions and performs appropriate shifting control according to the driver's shift lever and P position switch (integration control and panel assembly) operations. Also, locking and unlocking of the parking lock mechanism is performed by the parking lock actuator (shift control actuator assembly) installed to the transaxle itself, the drive control of which is performed by the transmission control ECU assembly (P control function).
If the accelerator pedal is depressed while the shift position is in N (neutral), a buzzer is sounded and a message is displayed to warn the driver.
