OUTLINE
A FCV uses a chemical reaction between hydrogen and oxygen to generate electrical energy, which is used to power the motors that propel the vehicle. The only emission from the vehicle itself is water (water vapor) produced by the reaction of hydrogen and oxygen during electrical generation.
Tech Tips
Electrical generation may also occur when the vehicle is stopped, in which case water (water vapor) will be emitted from the exhaust pipe.
