EMISSION CONTROL SYSTEM


  1. FUNCTION


    1. To ensure the proper warm-up performance of the Three-Way Catalytic converters (TWCs) after starting a cold engine, an air injection system is used.

    2. This system consists of an air pump, an air switching valve, an air pressure sensor and an air injection control driver.

    3. The ECM estimates the amount of air injected to the TWCs based on signals from the intake mass air flow meter in order to regulate the air injection timing.
