OUTLINE
Lightweight and Highly Rigid Body
High-strength steel and ultra high-strength steel are used in order to achieve excellent body rigidity and a lightweight body.
Rust-resistant Body
Rust-resistant performance is enhanced by the extensive use of anti-corrosion sheet steel, as well as by an anticorrosion treatment that includes the application of anti-rust wax, sealer and anti-chipping paint to the easily corroded parts such as the hood and fender.
Safety Features
The impact absorbing structure minimizes cabin deformation by effectively helping to absorb the impact energy in the event of a front or side collision. This provides high performance occupant protection.
Aerodynamics
Various types of airflow routing parts that control airflow are provided to ensure excellent aerodynamic performance.
Low Vibration and Low Noise Body
Effective application of vibration damping and noise suppressant materials reduces engine, wind and road noise.
MAIN FEATURES
Design Theme
Tough and Cool
A lean strength is expressed by the firm stance of the tires.
The pursuit of the "Solid Fluidity" structural theme for the vehicle appearance emphasizes a vivid emotional feel.
Strength and an advanced feel are achieved by the dynamic and refined front construction.
Exterior Design
Front View
Within a powerful and dynamic front face, are fined feel is expressed, achieving a "tough and cool" image and differentiating itself from other IMV series.
Toughness and a sense of wideness are expressed by thin headlights (A in illustration), the thick front bumper with a high horizontal axis (B in illustration) and the chrome plated the thick frames that start at both ends of the large and slanted upper grille and connects to the headlights (C in illustration).
A solid stance and the toughness of the under bumper are expressed by powerful, deeply sculpted shapes that seems to wrap around the fog lights at both corners of the bumper (D in illustration) and the deep trapezoidal shapes that start from the opening of the bumper (E in illustration).
Side View
Toughness is expressed by the high axis that runs through the body (A in illustration), tough cross-sections (B in illustration) and the protruding front and rear fenders that focus on the tires.
The hard surfaces of the sculpted protruding front and rear fenders and the fluidly changing yet connective door surfaces express an emotional side view that is both refined and tough (C in illustration).
The 3 following iconic lines provide a sense of emotion and individualism to the side view: The roof line that runs towards the rear along the roof from the front fender (A in illustration), the line of chrome plated molding* that kicks up over the rear wheel flare and runs through the back window (B in illustration) (the side window has a blacked-out pillar to emphasize these lines) and the energetic body line below the door (C in illustration).
Tech Tips
*: Availability of chrome plated molding depends on the model.
Rear View
The contrast between the roundish upper body emphasized by the chrome plated molding that wraps around to the rear window (A in illustration) and the rear bumper with firmly protruding corners (B in illustration) expresses a solid stance and toughness.
A powerful, but refined cool impression is expressed by a construction that three dimensionally blends the sharp, thin rear light assemblies and license garnish with hard, taut firm spherical surface of the rear body.

Surface
A surface design theme of "Solid Fluidity" that emphasizes emotional charm was pursued.
The spherically protruding wheel flares and the sharp edges sculpted from them express a modern power. In addition, a refined sense of emotion is expressed by the fluidly changing yet connective door surfaces that run between the wheel flares.
