WIPER AND WASHER SYSTEM


  1. FUNCTION OF MAIN COMPONENTS


    1. The wiper and washer system consists of the following parts:

      Component Function
      Windshield Wiper Switch Assembly Front Wiper Switch Changes the front wiper operation position between MIST, OFF, INT, LO and HI.
      Rear Wiper Switch Changes the rear wiper operation position between ON, INT and OFF.
      Windshield Washer Switch Turns the windshield washer on and off.
      Rear Washer Switch Turns the rear washer on and off.
      INT Volume Switch Adjusts the interval of the intermittent operation of the wipers.
      Windshield Wiper Relay Controls the front wiper and washer system based on various switch signals.
      Windshield Wiper Motor Assembly Operates according to signals from the front wiper switch and the windshield wiper relay and operates the front wiper arm and front wiper blade through the windshield wiper link assembly.

      Rear Wiper Motor Assembly


      • Rear Wiper Relay

      		 Operates according to signals from the rear wiper relay and operates the rear wiper arm assembly and rear wiper blade assembly.

      Windshield Washer Jar Assembly


      • Windshield Washer Motor and Pump Assembly

      		 Operates according to signals from the windshield washer switch.

  2. FUNCTION


    1. Front Washer-linked Wiper Function


      1. When the front wiper switch is set to off or INT and the windshield washer switch is turned on, the front wipers start operating approximately 0.5 seconds after the washer fluid is sprayed. The front wiper operation will continue for approximately 2.2 seconds after the windshield washer switch is turned off.

    2. Adjustable Intermittent Control Function


      1. Setting the front wiper switch to INT and adjusting the intermittent timing will cause the wipers to intermittently operate 1 time approximately every 1.6 to 10.7 seconds.

    3. Rear Washer-linked Wiper Function


      1. When the rear wiper switch is set to off and the rear washer switch is turned on, the rear wipers start operating approximately 0.5 seconds after the washer fluid is sprayed. The rear wiper operation will continue for approximately 2.5 seconds after the rear washer switch is turned off.
