POWER DOOR LOCK CONTROL SYSTEM


  1. FUNCTION


    1. The power door lock control system has the following functions:

      Function Outline
      Manual Lock and Unlock This function can lock or unlock all doors by operation of the door control switch.
      Manual Unlock Prohibition Performing the door lock operation with a transmitter will prohibit the doors from being unlocked by the door control switch.
      Key-linked Lock and Unlock This function, linked with the driver door key cylinder, can lock or unlock all the doors when a lock or unlock operation is performed
      Key Confinement Prevention When the mechanical key is inserted in the ignition key cylinder and a door lock operation is performed while the driver door is open, all the doors will be unlocked.*1
      When a door lock operation is performed with the electrical key transmitter sub-assembly in the interior detection area, the door lock operation will be prohibited.*2
      Collision Door Lock Release*3 If the SRS airbag system has been deployed and the body ECU has detected the signal that is output by the airbag sensor assembly, the body ECU unlocks all the doors.
      Speed Sensitive Automatic Door Lock*3

      After the ignition switch has been turned to ON with any of the doors unlocked, this function causes all doors to be automatically locked once the vehicle speed reaches approximately 20 km/h (13 mph) or more. After this function has operated, it will not operate again until either of the following conditions is met:


      • Any of the doors are opened after the vehicle has stopped.

      • The ignition switch is turned off after the vehicle has stopped.
      Driver Door Opening-linked Automatic Door Unlock*3 All doors automatically unlock when the driver door is opened within 30 seconds of the ignition switch being turned from ON to ACC or off.
      Double Locking*4

      • The double locking function also prevents the doors from being opened through the operation of the inside door knobs. Thus, the doors cannot be opened from either inside or outside of the vehicle.

      • Pressing the lock button on the transmitter once and then pressing it again within 5 seconds activates the double locking function. However, as an emergency unlocking maneuver, only the driver door can be unlocked with a mechanical key.

      Tech Tips

      Never activate the double locking system when there are people in the vehicle because the doors cannot be opened from the inside of the vehicle. If the doors have been locked by accident, press the unlock button of the transmitter.
