  1. FUNCTION OF MAIN COMPONENTS

    Component Function

    Air Conditioning Control Assembly


    • Rear Window Defogger Switch

    • Indicator Light

    • Inputs the rear defogger system operation signal to the air conditioning amplifier assembly.

    • Illuminates to inform the driver when the rear defogger system is active.
    Air Conditioning Amplifier Assembly Operates and controls the rear defogger system in accordance with the signals from the rear window defogger switch.
    Ambient Temperature Sensor (Thermistor Assembly) Detects the ambient temperature and outputs it to the air conditioning amplifier assembly.
    ECM Outputs the amount of power generation to the air conditioning amplifier assembly.

    Engine Room Relay Block LH


    • Defogger Relay

    		 Applies electrical current to the defogger wire by controlling the air conditioning amplifier assembly.
    Defogger Wire Installed to the back door glass, receives current from the defogger relay to remove fogging.

  2. SYSTEM CONTROL


    1. When the engine switch is turned on (IG) and the rear window defogger switch is pushed, this system is activated to keep the defogger heater on for approximately 15 minutes.

    2. Operation time of the window defogger system will be extended while the following condition is met (maximum time of approximately 45 minutes):


      • The amount of power generation is within the predetermined range while the ambient temperature is approximately -3°C or lower.
