THEFT DETERRENT


  1. FUNCTION


    1. The theft deterrent system has the following functions:

      Function Outline
      Alarm When the theft deterrent system switches to the alarm state, the warning items are operated and the alarm sounds for approximately 27.5 seconds.
      Alarm Indicator When the theft deterrent system switches to the armed preparation state or alarm state, the security indicator light is illuminated to inform the user. This indicator is also the engine immobiliser indicator, which blinks when the engine immobiliser is in the set state.
      Forced Door Lock

      The main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) transmits a door lock signal to all the doors when all the following conditions are met:


      • The theft deterrent system is in the alarm state.

      • There is no electrical key transmitter sub-assembly in the actuation area.

      • One of the doors has been unlocked.

      The function stops when one of the following conditions is met:


      • All doors are locked.

      • The warning ends after approximately 27.5 seconds.

      • The electrical key transmitter sub-assembly is in the actuation area.

  2. OPERATION


    1. The states of the theft deterrent system are as follows:

      State Description Theft Detection
      Disarmed State The theft deterrent system has not been set by the user. Not possible
      Armed Preparation State This is the preparation state before the theft deterrent system becomes active (enters the armed state) when the system has been set by the user. Not possible
      Armed State The theft deterrent system is active. (Theft can be detected.) Possible
      Alarm Sounding State A theft attempt has been detected and the warning operation activates. Possible

      1. The theft deterrent system activates as shown in the diagram below when one of the items in the table occurs in order to cause the system to enter the respective state.

        In disarmed state 1, when the engine switch is off, the system state is switched if the following condition is met:


        • With all doors and the engine hood closed, all doors are locked by wireless operation, the smart entry and start system.

        • With all doors and the engine hood closed, all doors are locked by key linked power door lock operation.*1

        In disarmed state 1, when the engine switch is off, the engine hood is closed and all doors are locked, the system state is switched if the following condition is met:*1


        • All doors are closed when any door is open.

        • Approximately 30 seconds elapse.*2

        • Approximately 9 seconds elapse.*3

        • All doors are unlocked by wireless operation, the smart entry and start system.

        • All doors are unlocked by key linked power door lock operation.*1

        • Any door is unlocked.

        • Any door is opened.

        • The engine switch is pushed.

        • The engine switch is turned on (ACC) or on (IG).

        • The battery is reconnected.

        • The engine hood is opened when the engine hood is closed.

        • Any door is opened when all doors are closed.

        • Any door is unlocked when all doors are locked.

        • When 5 seconds or more have elapsed after the engine switch is pressed, the power source mode is changed from off to on (IG) without pressing the engine switch.

        • The engine hood is open.*4

        • Any door is open.*4

        • The power source mode is on (IG).*4

        • The engine switch is turned on (IG) and the engine is running at 550 rpm for 2 seconds or more.

        • All doors are unlocked by wireless operation or the smart entry and start system.

        • All doors are unlocked by key linked power door lock operation.*1

        • The engine switch is turned on (ACC) or on (IG) within 5 seconds after the engine switch is pushed.*1

        • After approximately 27.5 seconds, the alarm stops and the system returns to the armed state.*1

        • After approximately 27.5 seconds, the alarm stops and 5 seconds later the system returns to the armed state.*4

        (7)
        • The engine hood is closed when the engine hood is open.

        • The power slide door or back door*5 reservation lock is operated with the engine hood and a door other than the back door closed.

        • Any door is unlocked when all doors are locked.

        • Any door is opened.

        • The engine switch is pushed.

        • The engine switch is turned on (ACC) or on (IG).

        • The battery is reconnected.

        • All doors are unlocked by wireless operation or the smart entry and start system.

        • All doors are unlocked by key linked power door lock operation.*1

        • While the power slide door or back door*5 is closing, the power slide door or back door*5 reverses direction, stops partway or any other door is opened.

        In disarmed state 1, when the engine switch is off, the system state is switched if the following condition is met:


        • With all doors closed and the engine hood open, all doors are locked by wireless operation, the smart entry and start system or key linked power door lock operation*1.

        In disarmed state 1, when the engine switch is off, the engine hood is open and all doors are locked, the system state is switched if the following condition is met:*1


        • All doors are closed when any door is open.

        In disarmed state 1, when engine switch is off, the power slide door or back door*5 is closing and all doors are closed, the system state is switched if the following condition is met:


        • All doors are locked by wireless operation.

        (10) The engine hood is opened.
