FUNCTION OF MAIN COMPONENTS
The main components in the power door lock control system have the following functions:
| Component | Outline | |
|---|---|---|
| Main Body ECU (Multiplex Network Body ECU) | Drives all door lock motors in response to signals. | |
| Door Lock Assembly | Door Lock Position Switch | Detects whether the door is locked or unlocked and sends this information to the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU). |
| Door Lock Motor | Drives the motor in response to signals from the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) and locks or unlocks the doors. | |
| Key-linked Switch | Sends a lock or unlock request signal to the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) by the key. | |
| Multiplex Network Master Switch Assembly | Door Lock Switch | Sends manual lock and unlock request signals to the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU). |
| Door Courtesy Light Switch Assembly | Detects whether the doors are open or closed and sends this information to the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU). | |
| Sub Battery (Door Control Battery) | When the battery is damaged, this supplies power to the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) and each door lock motor to enable door unlock operation. | |
| Combination Meter Assembly | Outputs vehicle speed signal via CAN communication to the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU). | |
| Airbag ECU Assembly | Outputs airbag operation signal to the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU). | |
| ECM | Outputs shift position signal via CAN communication to the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU). | |
| Power Back Door ECU (Multiplex Network Door ECU)* | Drives the back door lock motor according to back door open signals from the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU). | |
| Back Door Lock Assembly |
|
|
| Back Door Opener Switch Assembly | Send unlock request signal to certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly). | |

FUNCTION
The power door lock control system has the following functions:
| Function | Outline |
|---|---|
| Manual Lock and Unlock | This function can lock or unlock all the doors by the door lock switch operation. |
| Key-linked Lock and Unlock | This function which is linked with the door key cylinder can lock or unlock all the doors when a lock or unlock operation is effected. |
| Key Confinement Prevention | When electrical key transmitter sub-assembly is present in the interior detection area and a door lock operation is performed while the driver door is open, all the doors will be unlocked. |
| Speed Sensitive Automatic Door Lock | After the engine switch has been turned to on (IG) with any of the doors unlocked, this function causes all doors to be automatically locked once the vehicle speed reaches approximately 20 km/h (13 mph) or more. After this function has operated, it will not operate again until either of the following conditions is met:
|
| Collision Door Lock Release | If the SRS airbag system has been deployed, and the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) has detected the signal that is output by the airbag ECU assembly, the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) unlocks all the doors. |
| Manual Unlock Prohibition | When the doors are all closed and are locked using a key-linked operation or wireless key operation, unlocking the vehicle using the door control switch is prohibited. |
| Electrical Back Door Outside Handle System | This function releases the latch of the back door lock assembly when the back door opener switch assembly is operated. |
| Driver Door Opening-linked Automatic Door Unlock | All doors are automatically unlocked when the driver door is opened within 30 seconds of the engine switch being turned from on (IG) to on (ACC) or off. |
| Shift-linked Automatic Door Lock | When the conditions listed below are met consecutively, this function causes all the doors to be automatically locked.
|
| Shift-linked Automatic Door Unlock | When the conditions listed below are met, this function causes all the doors to be automatically unlocked.
|
| Customization | For some functions, settings can be changed according to user preference. For details, refer to the Repair Manual. |
