    1. G-BOOK System (Destination package for China)


      1. G-BOOK is a telematics service that links the vehicle and G-BOOK network (provides information from the G-BOOK center or content providers).

      2. When using the telematics system, the navigation receiver assembly is connected via a communication device as indicated below:

        Tech Tips

        *: When the connection setting is changed to Wi-Fi connection, communication is enabled via a tethering-compatible cellular phone or mobile Wi-Fi router.

      3. The user must follow the instructions displayed on the multi-display assembly of the navigation receiver assembly to start using the telematics system service after applying for the service at a dealership.

    2. ERA-GLONASS System (Destination package for Russia)


      1. ERA-GLONASS is a subscription-based telematics service* that uses Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) and cellular service (telephone function).

      2. ERA-GLONASS is a service that provides emergency assistance when the vehicle is involved in an accident or is malfunctioning. After receiving an emergency call from the vehicle, depending on the situation, a Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP) operator contacts the police and/or an ambulance.

      3. ERA-GLONASS provides 2 types of services: Automatic Emergency Call Service and Manual Emergency Call Service.

      4. ERA-GLONASS consists mainly of the telematics transceiver (data communication module), mobilephone battery (back-up battery), telephone antenna assembly (telephone and GNSS antenna), manual (SOS) switch, telephone microphone assembly and manual (SOS) switch indicator.

  2. MAIN FEATURES


    1. The main features of the G-BOOK are as follows:

      Remote Maintenance Service Inspection Notification Sends an e-mail message to the vehicle to notify the user of necessary inspections based on vehicle use conditions.
      Operator Service Destination Setting If requested by the user, a G-BOOK operator can search for information to set a destination.
      POI Guidance Provides POI information for facilities in the area around the present location or facilities around the destination.
      News and Weather Forecast Information Delivers news and weather forecast information as requested by the user.
      Navigation System Link Function G Route Search Predicts the occurrence of or changes in traffic congestion on the route to the destination and provides the most suitable route based on the latest traffic information, probe information* and past statistical data.
      Searching for POIs on the WEB POI information, which was searched for on the Mapbar site, can be transferred to the navigation system.
      G-memory Point POI information, which was searched for using the contents of G-BOOK.com or a website, can be stored as a memory point in the navigation system.
      Facility Information When icons obtained from the web site or POIs searched for on the web are displayed on the map, information about the facility can be viewed.
      Other Function MY Request News or weather forecast information can be requested by a simple operation.

      Tech Tips

      *: Probe information is gathered by using probe communication to aggregate driving data such as speed and position from vehicles equipped with G-BOOK.

  3. PRECAUTION


    1. Mobilephone Battery (Back-up Battery)*

      *: Models with ERA-GLONASS System


      1. The mobilephone battery (back-up battery) has a service life of not less than 3 years. When the mobilephone battery (back-up battery) needs to be replaced, the manual (SOS) switch indicator (red) will come on. The telematics transceiver (data communication module) will also store a Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC).
