A low-pressure (N2) gas sealed rear shock absorber with a built-in digressive type piston valve is used to achieve a high level of controllability, driving stability and ride comfort.
Tech Tips
To prevent hazardous conditions, make sure to empty the gas from the shock absorber before discarding the low-pressure (N2) gas sealed in the shock absorber. For details, refer to the Repair Manual.
The digressive type piston valve opens in 2 different stages according to the piston speed to ensure an optimal damping force at very low piston speeds and middle/high piston speeds.
As only the stage 1 valve opens at very low piston speeds to ensure sufficient damping force even during minor movements, an enhanced response and comfortable flat ride have been achieved.
At middle/high piston speeds such as during a strong input, the stage 1 and stage 2 valves open to reduce the damping force in order to increase ride comfort and reduce transmitted shock.
