ACTIVE REAR WING SYSTEM

  1. OPERATION

    1. The active rear wing assembly consists of a rear spoiler motor, link mechanism, wing and base plate.

    2. 2 Hall ICs are built into the rear spoiler motor. Each Hall IC sends pulse signals to the spoiler control ECU assembly to provide feedback on the position of the active rear wing.

    3. The rear spoiler motor rotates the spindle bolt, moving the spindle nut up and down. The vertical motion of the spindle nut is converted into rotational movement of the rod sub-assembly via leverage arms. Rotation of the rod sub-assembly raises or retracts each link mechanism of the active rear wing. The angle of each link mechanism is limited by stoppers. When the link mechanism contacts a stopper, the rod sub-assembly continues to rotate a pre-determined angle to tension the link mechanism, enhancing the support and rigidity of the active rear wing.
