  1. FUNCTION OF MAIN COMPONENTS


    1. The main components of the rear defogger system have the following functions:

      Component Function
      Air Conditioning Control Assembly Rear Window Defogger Switch Sends the defogger wire operation signal to the air conditioning amplifier assembly.
      Air Conditioning Amplifier Assembly Operates and controls the rear defogger system in accordance with signals from the rear window defogger switch.
      Back Window Glass Rear Window Defogger Wire Applies electrical current to a defogger wire installed in the back window glass to defog the back window glass.

  2. SYSTEM CONTROL


    1. When the engine switch is on (IG), and the rear window defogger switch is pushed, the air conditioning amplifier assembly operates the rear window defogger wire for approximately 15 minutes. Also, under the specified conditions*, the rear window defogger wire may be operated for up to an additional 45 minutes (maximum).

      *: Power generated by the generator assembly is stable and outside temperature is -3°C (27°F) or lower.
