OUTLINE
Lightweight and Highly Rigid Body
High-strength steel, ultra high-tensile strength steel, hot-stamped steel and aluminum are used in order to achieve excellent body rigidity and a lightweight body.
Safety Features
The impact absorbing structure minimizes cabin deformation by effectively helping to absorb the impact energy in the event of a front, side or rear collision. This provides high performance occupant protection.
Rust-resistant Body
Rust-resistant performance is enhanced by the extensive use of anti-corrosion sheet steel and aluminum as well as by an anti-corrosion treatment that includes the application of anti-rust wax and sealer to easily corroded parts such as the edge of the door lower portion, the door hinge, the fuel filler lid hinge, and the hemmed portions of the hood panel.
Low Vibration and Low Noise Body
Effective application of vibration damping and noise suppressant materials reduces engine, wind and road noise.
Aerodynamics
Optimization of the shape of the body and underfloor ensures excellent aerodynamic performance.
MAIN FEATURES
Exterior Design
Design Concept
The dynamic proportions accentuate the sense of unity between the cabin and body.
Dynamic proportions unique to the RC and its wide and low stance realize a sense of dynamism. The waist line is set low on the door cross-section. Additionally, the rocker panel, belt line and rear spoiler have been given a similar rhythm. All of this helps to express the vehicle's sleek coupe design.
When viewed from above, from the spindle grill to the rear, the body emphasizes the sense of presence of the grill with daring motion. Also, flared wheel arches emphasize the large size tires, expressing the agile proportions of a coupe.
Front View
By combining a grille opening that is wider than that of a sedan, widely spread bumper corners and front flares and a low-positioned bumper peak, a stronger impression of the wide and low stance is created.
A grille design that evokes a vertical flow characteristic of the F Sport mesh pattern has been adopted for the base model to emphasize the sportiness of a coupe.
A sporty impression is emphasized to set this model apart from sedans.
Brake cooling ducts and LED fog lamps have been integrated into the inner part of the grille, contributing to a wide and powerful stance.
Garnish is provided on the corners of the bumper to control the velocity of airflow over the body for enhanced aerodynamic performance.
Rear View
The shapes created by the front bumper and corners, which evoke a three-dimensional spindle structure, widely bulging rear wheel flares, and a low-positioned rear spoiler and bumper peak, contribute to the image of a wide stance with a low center of gravity.
Uniquely designed muffler tips and side garnishes are arranged to draw awareness to the traction of the tires, expressing excellent agility.
The aero stabilizing fins on the rear bumper corners and rear combination lamps and the bottom end of the lower garnishes have the same shape and control the velocity of airflow, contributing to excellent handling stability.
F SPORT Models
An exclusive mesh grille, exclusive 19-inch aluminum wheels and F SPORT emblems on side and rear have been adopted to set F SPORT models apart from the base model.
A mesh grill design in which simple patterned mesh transforms into F-shaped mesh has been adopted.
Exhaust Tail Pipe Baffle
A special exhaust tail pipe baffle has been adopted.
Clearance between each bolt of the exhaust tail pipe baffle and each bolt hole of the bracket makes it possible to adjust the installation angle of the exhaust tail pipe baffle.

Laser-brazed Structure and Hemming Treatment
The laser-brazed structure. The roof panel and outer side panel are joined directly by laser brazing to produce a clean look that is highly attractive.

The hemming treatment* on the rear wheel arch flanges. The adoption of this hemming treatment decreases the lateral distance between the tire and wheel arch, and the tires are positioned further outward to add a stylish look to the design.
