OUTLINE
A multi-link type suspension, which consists of 2 upper control arms, 2 suspension arms and a toe control link, is used.
Through the use of optimal suspension geometry in combination with urethane bound stoppers and rear stabilizer bushings with semicircular metal fittings, the rear suspension ensures excellent controllability, vehicle stability and ride comfort.
Changes to the toe during suspension stroke are suppressed as much as possible, ensuring that a straight line is kept in spite of road surface disturbances. In addition, the toe control link sub-assembly is located rearward ensuring excellent traction and stability when turning.
A rear upper control arm assembly and a toe control link sub-assembly which are forged from aluminum are used, achieving both weight reduction and structural rigidity.
High tensile strength steel pipes are used for the rear No. 1 upper control arm assembly and rear No. 1 suspension arm assembly and high tensile strength sheet steel is used for the rear No. 2 suspension arm assembly, achieving a reduction in weight.
By keeping suspension friction low, a very comfortable ride resisting road surface input is ensured and steering has been enhanced due to the responsive suspension stroke.
The rear coil spring and shock absorber assembly are located separately, ensuring a large luggage space.
