LIGHTING SYSTEM

  1. CONSTRUCTION

    1. LED Headlights

      1. Through optimization of the shape of the lenses and reflectors inside the lights, a large illumination range has been realized.

    2. Bi-function

      1. When the low beam is selected, the lower illumination area of the bulb is blocked by a shade and only the upper illumination area is used.

      2. When the high beam is selected, the headlight actuator slides the shade down to allow use of the lower illumination area, thus increasing the illumination area and improving visibility when the high beam is selected.

      3. The bi-function is activated by the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU). The main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) receives as signal to turn on the high beams from the headlight dimmer switch assembly, then activates the built-in headlight actuator to slide the shade down.

    3. LED Unit for Adaptive High Beam System (Models with Adaptive High Beam System)

      1. An LED unit for the adaptive high beam system, which is also used for the high beams, is provided.

      2. The LED unit for the adaptive high beam system is equipped with 11 built-in chips that it uses to form light distribution patterns.

  2. OPERATION

    1. LED Unit for Adaptive High Beam System (Models with Adaptive High Beam System)

      1. 11 LED chips are positioned in the LED unit for the adaptive high beam system and they are controlled by the highlight light control ECU sub-assembly.

      2. By adjusting the brightness of each LED using pulse width modulation, it is possible to optimally control the illumination area of the high beams.
