LIGHTING SYSTEM


  1. FUNCTION OF MAIN COMPONENTS

    Component Function
    Main Body ECU (Multiplex Network Body ECU) Receives various signals and turns off the exterior lights.
    Headlight Dimmer Switch Assembly Outputs a light control signal and transmits it to the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU).
    Front Door Courtesy Light Switch Assembly (LH) Detects whether a door is open or closed and transmits a signal to the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU).
    HEAD Relay Shuts down power to the headlights, clearance lights and front fog lights*.
    TAIL Relay Shuts down power to the taillights and license plate lights.

  2. SYSTEM CONTROL


    1. The light auto turn-off system operates as follows:

      Models for Europe
      Function Operation Condition
      Headlight or Front Fog Light* Auto Turn-off

      When all of the following conditions are met, the headlights or front fog lights* automatically turn off:


      • The power switch is turned off.

      • The headlight dimmer switch is in the tail or head position.

      • The front fog light switch is on.*

      Exterior Light Auto Turn-off

      When both of the following conditions are met, the exterior lights automatically turn off:


      • The power switch is turned off.

      • The headlight dimmer switch is in the AUTO position.

      Function Operation Condition
      Driver Door-linked Function

      When all of the following conditions are met, the exterior lights automatically turn off:


      • The power switch is turned from on (IG) to off.

      • The headlight dimmer switch assembly is in the tail position.

      • The driver door is closed and then opened.

      Delay Function

      When all of the following conditions are met, the exterior lights automatically turn off after 30 seconds:


      • The power switch is turned from on (IG) to off.

      • The low beam headlights are on (light control switch is in the head or AUTO position).

      • All doors are closed after any of the doors are opened.

      Key-linked Function

      When the delay function is active and the following condition is met, the exterior lights turn off immediately:


      • The lock button on the key is pushed after all doors are locked.

      Function Operation Condition
      Driver Door-linked

      When both of the following conditions are met, the exterior lights automatically turn off:


      • The power switch is turned to ACC or off.

      • The driver door is closed and then opened.
