  1. CONSTRUCTION


    1. The kick door control sensor assembly is installed inside the rear bumper, and is composed of a sensor and ECU.

  2. OPERATION


    1. The kick door control sensor assembly detects touchless kick actuation operations performed towards the center of the rear bumper by users carrying an electrical key transmitter sub-assembly. When a touchless kick actuation operation is detected, a signal is output to the power back door ECU and the power back door system operates.

      Tech Tips

      Touchless kick actuation operation: The user carrying an electrical key transmitter sub-assembly stands around the center of the rear bumper while maintaining a certain distance (approximately equal to the length of the arm) from the rear bumper, waves a foot within approximately 100 mm (3.94 in.) from the surface of the rear bumper and moves the foot away.
