AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM

  1. OUTLINE

    1. The automatic air conditioning system uses left and right independent temperature control and neural network control to enhance comfort.

    2. A 3-zone temperature control, which can adjust the temperature of the rear seats independently, is provided in addition to the left and right independent temperature control on some grades.

    3. An inside-and-outside dual air layer type air conditioning unit is used. The upper layer ensures antifogging performance by introducing outside air, and the lower layer aims for ventilation loss reduction by circulating the inside air, thus achieving energy conservation.

    4. An S-FLOW control is used to concentrate the air outlet on the front seats or driver seat only when the temperature and moisture in the cabin are stable, thus aiming for a reduction in the burden on the air conditioning to achieve energy conservation.

    5. A pollen-removal type clean air filter, which has a pollen-and-odor removal effect, is used.

    6. If the remote engine start system starts the engine, the air conditioning system operates according to the last user mode state (the last state when the engine switch was turned off). Even if the last user mode state is off when the remote engine start is activated, the air conditioning system may turn on depending on the outside temperature as shown in the table below:

Last User Mode State Outside Temperature Air Conditioning System
Air conditioning system on - Turns on
      Air conditioning system off
      • Lower than 5°C (41°F)

      • Higher than 30°C (86°F)

Turns on (temperature setting: 22°C (72°F))
      Between 5°C (41°F) and 30°C (86°F) Off

  3. MAIN FEATURES

    1. The air conditioning system has the following features:

      Feature Outline
      High Performance
      • Neural network control is used, so passengers can finely control the air conditioning for maximum comfort.

      • The rear outlets are installed on the back of the center console to ensure comfortable cooling performance for the rear passengers.

      • A pollen-removal type clean air filter, which has a pollen-and-odor removal effect, is used.

      • Micro dust and pollen filter mode control is used to remove pollen in the area around the upper part of the bodies of the driver and front passenger.

      • The blower control has 7 levels in manual mode and 31 levels in auto mode for more precise control.

      • Using the following features of the cooler compressor assembly (continuously variable capacity compressor), high cooling performance and a quiet cabin have been achieved:

        • Magnetic flux sensor type air conditioning mass flow sensor

        • Oil separator

        • Variable suction side throttle

        • Solenoid control valve with built-in crank chamber to suction passage (CS) valve

      Lightweight
      • A bus connector with a built-in communication/driver IC is used in a lightweight wire harness design to allow a reduced number of wires.

      • The use of this type of connector means that pulse pattern type servo motors are used.

Compact A blower motor with a built-in blower motor controller is used to achieve a compact construction.
      Others

The following parts are used to ensure high cooling performance while achieving a compact and lightweight construction:

      • Semi-center Location Air Conditioning Unit

      • Revolutionary Super-slim Structure (RS) Evaporator

      • Straight Flow Aluminum (SFA)-II Heater Radiator Sub-assembly

      • Global Inner-fin Condenser (GIC)
