    1. The engine immobiliser system compares the ID code that is registered in the ID code box (immobiliser code ECU) with the ID code of the transponder chip that is embedded in the key. The system unsets if these ID codes match. Thus, the ID code box (immobiliser code ECU) and the certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly) communicate with each other enabling the hybrid system to start.

      Tech Tips

      When replacing the ID code box (immobiliser code ECU) or making a new electrical key transmitter sub-assembly, key recognition code(s) must be registered. For details, refer to the Service Bulletin for ENGINE IMMOBILISER SYSTEM (KEY REGISTRATION).
