    1. TOYOTA Hybrid System-II (THS-II)


      1. This system optimally performs cooperative control of the 2ZR-FXE engine, and Motor Generator No. 1 (MG1) and Motor Generator No. 2 (MG2) in the P410 hybrid vehicle transaxle assembly that provides excellent transmission performance. Furthermore, this system uses a high-output HV battery with a nominal voltage of DC 201.6 V, and a variable voltage system in which a boost converter boosts the operating voltage of the system to a maximum voltage of DC 650 V.

    2. 2ZR-FXE Engine


      1. The 2ZR-FXE is an in-line 4-cylinder, 1.8-liter, 16-valve DOHC engine.

      2. This engine uses a high-expansion ratio Atkinson cycle, Variable Valve Timing-intelligent (VVT-i) system, Electric Throttle Control System-intelligent (ETCS-i) and Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) system employing a highly efficient EGR cooler. In addition, use of an electric engine water pump assembly has eliminated the V-ribbed belt. Thus, improved engine performance, quietness, fuel economy, and cleaner emissions have been achieved.
