STOP AND START


  1. OPERATION


    1. The combination meter assembly receives the idling on/off signals from the engine stop and start ECU.

    2. By changing the display mode of the multi-information display, the amount of time idling stop was performed since the ignition switch was turned ON to when the ignition switch was turned off or the amount of time idling stop was performed since the reset switch was last pressed can be displayed.

    3. The system operation status or warning information is indicated to the driver through the following means:


      • Illuminating or flashing the stop and start indicator light and stop and start cancel indicator light on the multi-information display in the combination meter assembly.

      • Sounding a buzzer.

      • Displaying other information on the multi-information display.

      When the ecorun cancel switch assembly is ON.
      When any Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTCs) are detected. Blinks*
      When the number of times the starter assembly has been operated exceeds the threshold.

      *: The blinking interval is 0.5 seconds.

      Multi-information Display Operation

      • The air conditioning system is being used when the ambient temperature is high or low.

      • Windshield defogger is pressed.
      "Battery Charging"

      • The battery charge amount may be low.

      • A refresh charge may be occurring.

      • The engine may have been started with the hood opened

      • The battery may be cold

      • The battery may be extremely hot
      "For Brake System"

      • The brake booster load decreased.

      • The vehicle is operated at a high elevation.
      "Bonnet open" The engine has been started with the hood opened.
      "Driver Seat Belt Unbuckled" The driver seat belt is not fastened.
      "Non-Dedicated Battery" When a battery that is not specified is used and the battery voltage is below the lowest engine starting voltage.
      When the engine automatically restarts while stopped by the atop and start system A01T0XE "For Climate Control"

      • The air conditioning system is turned on or the air conditioning is being used.

      • Windshield defogger is turned on.
      "For Brake System" The brake pedal is strongly depressed further or pumped.
      "Battery Charging" The battery charge amount may be low.
      "Steering Wheel Turned" The steering wheel is turned.
      "Bonnet open" The hood is opened during idling stop.
      "Driver Seat Belt Unbuckled" The driver seat belt is not fastened.
