CRUISE CONTROL SYSTEM

  1. OUTLINE

    1. The cruise control system has 2 modes: constant speed control mode and speed limiter control mode*1. The cruise control system is controlled by the ECM*2 or driving support ECU assembly*3.

    2. In constant speed control mode, once the cruise control system is set to the desired vehicle speed, the ECM automatically regulates the motive force to maintain the set vehicle speed without any accelerator pedal operation.

    3. In speed limiter control mode, the cruise control system prevents the vehicle from accelerating higher than the limit speed when the driver depresses the accelerator pedal assembly. This control is performed through the use of the speed limiter switch and the cruise control switch*1.

    4. The cruise control system performs control through the ETCS-i system*4 or ECD system*5.

*1: Models with speed limiter control

*2: Except models with driving support ECU assembly

*3: Models with driving support ECU assembly

      *4: Models with 1NR-FE engine, 1ZR-FAE engine, 1ZR-FE engine, 2ZR-FE engine or 8NR-FTS engine

*5: Models with 1ND-TV engine or 1WW engine
