LUBRICATION SYSTEM


  1. OUTLINE


    1. The lubrication circuit is fully pressurized and all oil passes through an oil filter.

    2. The trochoid gear type oil pump assembly is chain-driven by the crankshaft.

    3. This engine has an oil return system in which the oil is force-fed to the upper cylinder head sub-assembly and returns to the No. 2 oil pan sub-assembly through the oil return holes in the cylinder head sub-assembly and cylinder block sub-assembly.

    4. This engine uses a Dual Variable Valve Timing-intelligent (Dual VVT-i) system. This system is operated by the engine oil.

    5. An oil filter with a replaceable element is used.
