CONSTRUCTION
The exhaust pipe assemblies are made of stainless steel to reduce their weight and improve rust resistance.
Ball joints are used to join the exhaust manifold converter sub-assembly to the front exhaust pipe assembly, and the front exhaust pipe assembly to the center exhaust pipe assembly. As a result, a simple construction and high reliability have been realized.
In addition to implementation of a long tail pipe structure, the muffler has been placed in the middle of the exhaust system, reducing the muffler size while retaining the quietness.

OPERATION
Exhaust Heat Recirculation System (Cold Area Specification Models)
The exhaust heat recirculation system uses heat energy from the exhaust to heat the engine coolant. This ensures excellent fuel economy by improving engine warm-up performance.
The exhaust heat recirculation system opens and closes a valve built into the center exhaust pipe assembly using the exhaust pipe gas control actuator. This changes the flow of exhaust gas in the center exhaust pipe assembly.
An engine coolant temperature switch, which is used only for the exhaust heat recirculation system, detects the temperature of the coolant flowing from the center exhaust pipe assembly.
The center exhaust pipe assembly has a built-in valve that is controlled by the exhaust pipe gas control actuator. The actuator opens and closes the valve built into the center exhaust pipe assembly, changing the direction of exhaust gas flow.
Wax is sealed into the exhaust pipe gas control actuator. The wax volume changes due to coolant temperature changes, causing the rod to extend (open) or retract (close) the valve built into the center exhaust pipe assembly.
