1NR-FE Engine
The 1NR-FE engine is a 1.3-liter, 16-valve DOHC, in-line 4-cylinder gasoline engine. This engine uses the Direct Ignition System (DIS), Dual Variable Valve Timing-intelligent (VVT-i) system and Electronic Throttle Control System-intelligent (ETCS-i). These systems achieve improved engine performance, fuel economy and clean emissions.

This engine uses the VALVEMATIC, Dual Variable Valve Timing-intelligent (Dual VVT-i) system, Acoustic Control Induction System (ACIS), Direct Ignition System (DIS) and Electronic Throttle Control System-intelligent (ETCS-i). These systems achieve improved engine performance, fuel economy and clean emissions.

The 1ND-TV TOYOTA Direct injection 4-stroke common-rail Diesel (D-4D) engine is an in-line 4-cylinder, 1.4-liter, 8-valve SOHC turbocharged diesel engine with intercooler. This engine uses a direct injection system and common-rail system to realize higher performance, good fuel economy, clean emissions, low noise and low vibrations.
This engine has a Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) catalytic converter. The DPF catalytic converter is used to realize clean emissions.

This engine uses a direct injection system and common-rail system to achieve higher performance, clean emissions, low noise and low vibrations.
This engine has a Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) catalytic converter. The DPF catalytic converter is used to realize clean emissions.

EC65A Multi-mode Manual Transaxle
An EC65A 6-speed multi-mode manual transaxle is used on multi-mode manual transaxle models with the 1ND-TV engine.
The multimode manual transaxle is a manual transaxle with a clutch actuator assembly and shift and select actuator assembly. The operations of the clutch actuator assembly and shift and select actuator assembly are controlled by the TCM.

K311 Multidrive/Continuously Variable Transaxle (CVT)
A K311 multidrive/Continuously Variable Transaxle (CVT) is used on CVT models with the 1ZR-FAE engine.
The K311 CVT, including a pair of pulleys and a steel belt in the shift mechanism, is a transaxle which steplessly shifts from starting off to the maximum speed, offering a smooth shift feeling and excellent fuel economy.

Suspension
