MIRROR SYSTEM (for TMC, TMMR Made) DETAILS

  1. OPERATING CONDITION

    1. Mirror Heater Function

      1. The mirror heaters are activated when the ignition switch is ON and the rear defogger switch is pushed. The air conditioning amplifier assembly operates the mirror heaters for approximately 15 minutes. Also, under the specified conditions*, the mirror heaters may be operated for up to an additional 45 minutes (maximum).

*: Vehicle speed is 45 km/h (28 mph) or more and the outside temperature is -3°C (27°F) or below.

    2. Reverse-linked Function (Models with Reverse-linked Function)

      1. This function operates when all of the following conditions are met:

        • The ignition switch is ON.

        • Either the R or L position of the mirror select switch has been selected.

        • The shift lever is moved to R.

    3. Memory System (Mirror Surface Position Memory Function) (Models with Memory Function)

      1. This function operates when any of the following conditions are met:

        • The memory switch is operated with the ignition switch ON, the shift lever in P and the mirror position stored in the memory system.

        • The memory switch is operated within approximately 180 seconds after opening the driver door with the ignition switch off and the mirror position stored in the memory system.

        • The memory switch is operated within approximately 60 seconds after closing the driver door with the ignition switch off and the mirror position stored in the memory system.

        • With the ignition switch off, the driver door closed and the key ID registration of the memory call function complete, the doors are unlocked using the smart entry and start function or wireless door unlock function and then the driver door is opened.

  2. FUNCTION

    1. The outer rear view mirrors have the following functions:

      Function Outline
Electric Remote Mirrors Remote Control Function The adjustment axis of the mirror surface of the electric remote mirrors can be controlled by using the outer mirror switch assembly.
Retract Function This function retracts and returns the outer rear view mirrors when the retract switch is operated.
Reverse-linked Function*1 This function tilts the mirror surface downward to improve visibility when reversing.
      Mirror Heater Function
      • The mirror heaters use a heater element in both outer rear view mirrors to help defog them.

      • The mirror heaters are controlled by the air conditioning amplifier assembly.

Memory System*2 The memory system can store the driver seat, outer rear view mirror and tilt & telescopic steering positions. Up to 2 memory positions can be stored in the system memory and recalled.
