  1. OPERATING CONDITION


    1. Heated Windshield Defroster System (Models with Heated Windshield Defroster System)


      1. If the outside temperature is lower than 5 °C (41°F) when the front wiper deicer switch is pushed after engine start-up, the system operates the heated windshield defroster for 4 minutes.

        Tech Tips


        • If the front wiper deicer switch is pressed when the outside temperature is 5°C (41°F) or more, the heated windshield defroster system will not operate and the indicator of the front wiper deicer switch will blink 5 times.

        • If a rear seat heater switch is pressed while the heated windshield defroster system is operating, the rear seat heater request will be rejected by exclusive control and the indicator of the rear seat heater switch will blink 5 times. Additionally, if the front wiper deicer switch is pressed while a rear seat heater is operating, the rear seat heater will be turned off and the heated windshield defroster system will start operating.

    2. Front Wiper Deicer System (Models with Front Wiper Deicer System)


      1. When the ignition switch is ON, and the front wiper deicer switch is pushed, this system operates the front wiper deicer heater for approximately 15 minutes.

    3. Rear Defogger System


      1. When the ignition switch is ON, and the rear window defogger switch is pushed, the air conditioning amplifier assembly operates the rear window defogger wire for approximately 15 minutes. Also, under the specified conditions*, the rear window defogger wire may be operated for up to an additional 45 minutes (maximum).

        *: The charging system is operating normally and the outside temperature is -3°C (27°F) or below.
