LIGHTING SYSTEM


  1. FUNCTION


    1. The illuminated entry system has the following functions, with each function controlling different lights:

      Function Outline
      Interior Light Control Illuminates and extinguishes the map light, center console illumination light, No. 1 room light assembly, No. 2 room light assembly*1, engine switch illumination light*2 and key illumination light*3.
      Interior Foot Light and Door Illumination Light Control*4 Illuminates and extinguishes the interior foot light, door illumination light (door inside handle illumination light, door pocket illumination light and ornament illumination light).
      Side Step Light Control*5 Illuminates and extinguishes the side step light.
      Outer Mirror Foot Light Control*6 Illuminates and extinguishes the outer mirror foot light.
      Dimming Control*4 The brightness of the interior foot light and door illumination light can be controlled in 5 stages via the room light switch assembly.
      Battery Saving

      • Extinguishes each light*7 if no door is opened or closed for approx. 20 minutes after any door*8 is opened.

      • When the light switch is in the on position, the battery saving function of the map light, No. 1 room light assembly, No. 2 room light assembly*1 and vanity light assembly does not operate.
      Customization The light illumination time (15 seconds) can be changed using the customization function. For details, refer to the Repair Manual.

    2. Interior Light Control Function


      1. The interior light control function operates as follows:

        *a Lights are Turned Off
        *b Lights are Turned On for 15 Seconds
        *c Lights are Turned On Continuously
        No. Condition
        (1)

        • With ignition switch off and all doors closed, any door is unlocked.

        • Ignition switch is off.

        • With engine switch off and all doors closed, key enters any actuation area around the doors.*
        (2) Any door, back door or glass hatch is open.
        (3) All doors, back door and glass hatch are closed.
        (4)

        • More than 15 seconds have elapsed since the lights were turned on.

        • All doors are closed and locked.

        • Ignition switch is ON or ACC.

        • Key is outside of all actuation areas around the doors.*

    3. Interior Foot Light and Door Illumination Light Control Function


      1. The interior foot light and door illumination light control function operate as follows:

        (1) With ignition switch off and all doors closed, any door is unlocked.
        (2)

        • Any door, back door or glass hatch is open.

        • With shift lever in P, ignition switch is turned from off to ON.*1

        • With parking brake engaged and vehicle speed 3 km/h (2 mph) or less, ignition switch is turned from off to ON.*2
        (3)

        • With Ignition switch is ACC or off, all doors are closed.

        • With all doors, back door and glass hatch closed, ignition switch is turned from ON to off.
        (4)

        • More than 15 seconds have elapsed since the lights were turned on.

        • With ignition switch off and all doors closed, all doors, back door and glass hatch are locked.
        (5) With ignition switch off and all doors locked, all doors are closed.
        (6)

        • With shift lever in any position other than P, ignition switch is turned from off to ON.*1

        • With parking brake not engaged or vehicle speed above 3 km/h (2 mph), ignition switch is turned from off to ON.*2
        (7)

        • With ignition switch ON, shift lever is moved any position other than P.*1

        • With ignition switch ON, parking brake not engaged or vehicle speed above 3 km/h (2 mph).*2
        (8)

        • With ignition switch ON, shift lever is in P.*1

        • With ignition switch ON, parking brake engaged and vehicle speed 3 km/h (2 mph) or less.*2

        • With ignition switch ON and shift lever in any position other than P, any door is open.*1

        • With ignition switch ON, parking brake engaged and vehicle speed 3 km/h (2 mph) or less, any door is open.*2

        • *1: Models with automatic transmission

        • *2: Models with manual transmission

    4. Side Step Light Control Function


      1. The side step light control function operates as follows:

        • With ignition switch off all doors closed, any door is unlocked.

        • All doors are closed and locked.

        • Ignition switch is turned to ON.

        • With engine switch off and all doors closed, key is outside of all actuation areas around the doors.*
        (3)

        • With ignition switch off, any door other than the back door is open.
        (4)

        • Ignition switch is turned to ON.
        (5)

        • All doors are closed.

    5. Outer Mirror Foot Light Control Function


      1. The outer mirror foot light control function operates as follows:

        • With engine switch off and all doors closed, key enters any actuation area around the doors.*

        • All doors are closed and locked.

        • Ignition switch is turned to ON.

        • With engine switch off and all doors closed, key is outside of all actuation areas around the doors.*

    6. Interior Light Auto Cut Function


      1. The interior light auto cut system operates as follows:


        • When any light switch is on for 20 minutes and no changes occur, the corresponding interior light such as the map lights, door illumination lights*1, interior foot lights*2, key illumination light*3, engine switch illumination*4, No. 1 room light, No. 2 room light*5, side step lights*6 and vanity lights will turn off.
