DIFFERENTIAL SYSTEM

    1. Front Differential


      1. An SD20B type front differential used.

      2. A double-row tapered roller bearing is used for the front differential drive pinion bearing to reduce friction loss, thus improving fuel consumption.

    2. Rear Differential


      1. An BD21B, BD21BN or BD21BT type rear differential is used.

      2. A rear differential lock system is used for the BD21BN type rear differential. rear differential lock system In the unlikely event that one of the rear wheels loses grip on a surface on which it is difficult to transmit drive torque (such as sand), the rear differential lock can connect the left and right rear wheels, thus ensuring the drive torque of the other wheel and assisting in freeing the vehicle in emergency situations.

      3. The 4WD control ECU actuates and controls the shift motor in the differential lock shift actuator. This causes the rear differential lock system to switch the rear differential between free and lock.

      4. An BD21BT type rear differential with TORSEN* Limited Slip Differential (LSD) is used. By optimally distributing drive force in accordance with acceleration operation, a high level of traction performance, operability and driving stability have been achieved.

      5. A low viscosity oil is used, also improving fuel consumption.
