    1. The radiator shutter sub-assembly consists of the following components.

      Item Description
      Grille Shutter Frame Sub-assembly The grille shutter frame sub-assembly is the bearing of the grille shutter fins, and mounts the swing grille actuator assembly.
      Swing Grille Actuator Assembly The swing grille actuator assembly is composed of an ECU, wheel IC, motor and gears. The wheel IC detects the rotation of the gears.
      Grille Shutter Fin

      • The grille shutter fins are opened and closed by the swing grille actuator assembly.

      • The tip of the grille shutter fins are coated with rubber to prevent a slapping sound when closing, and to protect pedestrians.

      • The grille shutter fins are wave shaped to reduce wind noise.

      • The grille shutter fin shafts are wedge shaped to prevent freezing water from entering the bearing.
      Grille Shutter Link

      • The grille shutter link synchronizes the movement of the upper grille shutter fins and the lower grille shutter fins by connecting them.

      • The swing grille actuator assembly opens and closes the lower fins. The grille shutter links transmit the movement of the lower fins to upper fins, enabling the upper fins and lower fins to open and close at the same time.
      Motor Cover The motor cover is also used as the front bearing of the fins while protecting the swing grille actuator assembly.
      Radiator Grille Seal The radiator grille seal blocks the flow of air from the mounting portion of the radiator grille shutter.
