  1. FUNCTION


    1. Once the pop up hood receives the ignition signal from the airbag sensor assembly, it ignites the inflator in the pop up hood lifter assembly. The inflator produces a gas, which pushes up the piston, thus causing the hood to be raised.

      CAUTION:

      If the hood release lever is pulled after the pop up hood is activated, the hood may rise more.
